Meet our Mediators: Roanne Leeman

Roanne is a clinical social worker and psychotherapist registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers with nearly 20 years of experience. In addition, she is also a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
Roanne obtained her Master’s degree in Social Work from Carleton University, with previous undergraduate degrees from both Carleton University (BSW), as well as the University of Ottawa (BA Psych). Prior to becoming a private practitioner, Roanne worked at The Ottawa Hospital in both inpatient and outpatient settings developing therapeutic interventions with patients and their families.
Roanne has extensive experience working with adults, with a strong focus on youth and their families to help them navigate diverse challenges and struggles. She has focused on providing treatment to clients with a range of identified issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, and adjustment to life transitions.
Roanne utilizes a cognitive behavioral approach when working with clients, but also incorporates elements of dialectical behavioral therapy and solution focused therapy. Roanne embraces a collaborative and strength-based approach, developed in keeping with the needs of each client. Roanne works with her clients in a supportive environment to develop tools and strategies to enhance their overall emotional well-being and function.
